Police Log: October 14

The following cases were investigated by the D.C. Police Gay & Lesbian Liaison Unit.

On Oct. 10, in the 5200 block of Cloud Place, N.E., a woman reported that an unknown suspect took her phone while she was in the alley. The woman was apparently under the influence of an unknown substance and could not provide additional information. A report was taken.

On Oct. 10, in the 3400 block of Minnesota Ave., S.E., a man reported that shortly after parking his car he found that it was vandalized with anti-gay graffiti and set on fire. The man has been having problems with people in the area for several weeks calling him homophobic epithets. He perceives it to be a bias-motivated incident. A destruction of property report (bias-related) was taken.

On Oct. 10, in the 4000 block of 1st St., S.W., a man reported that he and his boyfriend were engaged in a verbal argument. The argument escalated and the boyfriend assaulted the complainant. A report for simple assault (domestic violence) was taken.
