FERNDALE, Mich. — Affirmations, an LGBT community center in the Detroit metro area, will now accept clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan health insurance for counseling and mental health services, Between the Lines, a gay news outlet, reported last week.

The change will help the center with its long-term financial sustainability, the article said. Affirmations provides counseling regardless of patients’ health care coverage or ability to pay, the article said.
