Gay dance scene welcomes two new parties

Two new monthly gay dance parties are set to debut in the coming week.

Green Lantern (1335 Green Ct., N.W.) begins hosting “Grunt” every second Friday of the month. The first installment is tonight from 9 p.m.- 3 a.m. Free entry open to all on active duty. Cover for civilians is $5 in military gear and $10 for everyone else. There is an open bar from 9-10 p.m. DJs David Merrill and Jake Marx spin tunes for the night. Cobalt (1639 R St., N.W.) hosts its new bear dance party “Bearzerk” Saturday night from 10 p.m.- 3 a.m. Well and domestic drinks are $5. Jamesons, jagers, socos and fireballs are $6. DJ Dean Sullivan spins his tracks for the dance floor. Cover is $5 before midnight and $7 after midnight. Admission is limited to guests 21 and over. For more information, visit cobaltdc.com.
