Doc explores Methodist struggles with gay marriage

“An Act of Love,” a documentary about LGBT inclusion in the United Methodist Church, screens with a panel discussion at Landmark E Street Cinema (555 11th St., N.W.) on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 7-10 p.m.

Rev. Frank Schaefer is the focus of the documentary. Schaefer had his ministerial credentials revoked after officiating his son’s same-sex ceremony. The film also explores same-sex marriage and gay and lesbian clergy in the church. Director Scott Sheppard and Rev. Frank Schaefer will appear for the panel discussion.

    The problem isn’t America. The problem is primitive African churches who refuse to acknowledge humanity and equality. They all vote in the same conference.

    Because a church respects the teachings found in the bible that makes them primitive. I am so glad that the American church is so much more “advanced” that we can all applaud the virtues of sexual perversion. Aren’t we all just so very smart and wonderful?
