Hundreds participate in annual Whitman-Walker fundraiser
Pennsylvania Avenue was closed to traffic on Saturday, Oct. 2 as hundreds of people participated in the annual AIDS Walk to benefit Whitman-Walker Clinic. The event featured performances by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, Peter Fox, the D.C. Cowboys and a Danish gymnastics team. Speakers included actress Lynda Carter (best known as “Wonder Woman” from the 1970s television show) and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton.

The new monthly 90’s Flashback Drag Brunch premiered at Red Bear Brewing Co. on Sunday, April 26. Performers included Logan Stone, Tiffany D. Carter and Charlemagne Chateau.

The LGBTQ+ Victory Fund National Champagne Brunch was held at Salamander Washington DC on Sunday, April 19. Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) was presented with the Allyship Award.

The umbrella LGBTQ sports organization Team D.C. held its annual Night of Champions Gala at the Georgetown Marriott on Saturday, April 18. Team D.C. presented scholarships to local student athletes and presented awards to Adam Peck, Manuel Montelongo (a.k.a. Mari Con Carne), Dr. Sara Varghai, Dan Martin and the Centaur Motorcycle Club. Sean Bartel was posthumously honored with the Most Valuable Person Award.
