The Shakespeare Theater Company hosts “Classic Conversations with Michael Kahn” on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Sydney Harmon Hall (610 F St., N.W.).
Classically trained actors Audra McDonald and Christopher Plummer will join the Kahn (Shakespeare’s director) for a discussion on classical theater and the art of acting.
McDonald’s acting has received wide critical acclaim, earning her three Tony Awards before the age of 30. She recently won the 2012 Tony Award for “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess” and she has acted on television shows such as NBC’s “Law and Order: SVU.”
Plummer has won two Tony Awards and in 2012 won the Academy Award for playing gay in “Beginners.” With a career spanning over half a century, Plummer has played nearly all of the great classic Shakespearean roles.
Admission to the discussion is $20-35. For more information and to purchase tickets online, visit ShakespeareTheatre.org.
