Capitol Hill group elects officers

WASHINGTON — The LGBT Congressional Staff Association on Feb. 10 announced its members have elected the organization’s 2015 officers.

Mitchell Rivard, who is Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee’s deputy chief of staff and communications director, will serve as the LGBT Congressional Staff Association’s president. Other officers are Vice President Brian Walsh, Communications Director Malaika I. Robinson, Membership Director David Gellman, Robert Edmonson, Todd Sloves, Michael Wong and Yesenia Chavez.

“The LGBT community has a strong presence on Capitol Hill and the board of directors is excited and eager to advocate for our members in the coming year,” said Rivard, who was previously the group’s vice president.
