The Capital Pride Alliance held its annual Pride Heroes reception at the Carnegie Library on Wednesday, June 1. The 2016 Pride Heroes are Bishop Allyson Abrams, Kathleen Matthews, Rayceen Pendarvis and Peter Rosenstein. The Engendered Spirits awardees are Julius Agers and Jeri Hughes.

Chelsea Bland and Michael Creason were given the The Bill Miles Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service.

The sixth annual Fredericksburg Pride March was held in downtown Fredericksburg, Va. on Saturday, June 27. Stafford County Board of Supervisors Chair Deuntay Diggs led the march alongside Fredericksburg City Council Member Jannan W. Holmes. The Fredericksburg Pride Festival took place at Riverfront Park after the march. Bree Fram was the featured speaker.
