Ladies of Town, regular DJs slated for swan song

Town Danceboutique (2009 8 St., N.W.), D.C.’s largest gay nightclub, hosts its final weekend of parties next weekend.

The final Bear Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 29. Entry continues through 8:30 p.m. 

Per tradition, Friday nightJune 29 will be open to all guests 18 and up and include a drag show at 9:30 p.m. featuring Tatianna, Shi-Queeta Lee, Ba’Naka and more. Tickets ($40) for the show can be purchased at flavorus.com. Seats operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

There will also be a special show by all the Ladies of Town upstairs later in the night and music will be by Wess and BacK2bACk. Doors open at 9 p.m. and entry tickets ($35) can be purchased at the door.

The Closing Party is Saturday night will host virtually all the same festivities — drag show and the Ladies of Town — but music will be by Wess and Town owner Ed Bailey and the party will only be available to guests 21 and up. The Saturday night drag show is sold out. Admission after the drag show is $35.

“Herses- Purse Frist Extravaganza” will be on Friday, May 3 at 9 p.m. at 1835 14th St. N.W. This will be an evening of dancing and performances, hosted by HAUS of Bambi Award-winning Performance Artist, BUMPER. Refreshments are also available for purchase.

Support HIV research with a drag show

El Techo will host, in partnership with Cherry Fund, a special edition of “Cherry Sundays” on Sunday, April 7 at 11 a.m. 

This event is a one-day fundraising bottomless brunch. There will be performances by Evry Pleasure, Tara Hoot and TrevHER, with DJ Lemz. All tequila shot purchases will be donated to the Cherry Fund.

The Cherry Fund raises money for LGBTQ non-profits whose primary goal is to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS with prevention, treatment and education, and mental health services.

The event costs $45, inclusive of bottomless brunch on margaritas, mimosas, Bloody Marys and Tecates.
