Maroon 5 has “pretty much accepted” an offer to perform at Super Bowl LIII at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Feb. 3, according to a report from Us Weekly. However, not everyone is excited to see the pop-rock band take the stage.
The Super Bowl’s host city is known for its hip-hop culture and history and some people hoped that would be reflected in the show.

Pass on the Trump Apprentice tapes, I want to hear the NFL’s closed door conversations that resulted in Maroon 5 playing the Super Bowl in Atlanta.

Usher, Outkast, Cee-Lo, any of the So So Def artists. Hell, even Migos.

Or Migos or Gucci or 2 Chainz or about half a dozen other rappers. I bet Maroon 5 brings out Atlanta adjacent rapper Cardi B for a feature though.

There still might be some hip-hop representation at the show. Us Weekly reports that Cardi B and Travis Scott are in the early stages of consideration.
