Grace Jones to headline Stonewall 50 Pride celebration

Grace Jones will headline World Pride NYC/Stonewall 50 at at Pier 97 in Hudson River Park on Saturday, June 29.

“I couldn’t be more excited to perform in front of my LGBTQIA+ friends and the community that’s supported me for so many years during WorldPride 2019 | Stonewall 50,” the “Pull Up to the Bumper” singer said in a statement. “Saturday’s Pride Island lineup will be a celebration of everything that the community stands for and will go down in illustrious history.”

Dancer/singer Teyana Taylor, Pabllo Vittar “Brazil’s most famous drag queen,” Afro-Latina pop singer Amara La Negra and DJ Johnny Dynell will also be on the bill for Saturday.

“We’re planning an action-packed weekend of live performances, that will build upon the excitement of what Pride attendees know as Pride Island, for our biggest and most inclusive year yet,” Pride Island Director Jose Ramos said in a press release. “We’re turning up the heat this year, in honor of WorldPride 2019 | Stonewall 50. It’s slated to be a truly unforgettable celebration.”

The headliners for Sunday, June 30 have not yet been announced but DJs Abel and Morabito are already scheduled to perform.
