Batwoman is an open lesbian in new film
superhero is out and proud in next DC installment
Batwoman is an out lesbian in the new animated film “Batman: Bad Blood.”
According to Autostraddle, the film teams Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, up with Dick Grayson to solve the mystery of Batman’s death. Along the way, Kane’s sexuality is casually mentioned by flirting with a woman at a gay bar, discussing settling down with a “good girl” with her father and discussing women with Grayson.
Kane came out in the DC universe in 2006. In 2013, Kane became engaged to Detective Maggie Sawyer. Around the same time, DC changed its policies to prevent marriage in their new comic books. After the policy change, DC had a drop in sales.
Since then, not much progress has been made for Batwoman’s personal life.
“Batman: Bad Blood” is available on DVD and for download.
