The Rose Parade will honor and remember the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla. with a special float, according to the Pasadena Star News.

Pulse survivors  Gustavo Marrero, Isaiah Henderson, Victor Febo, Pulse owner Barbara Poma, club patron Jahqui Sevilla, Joel Morales, victim service advocate for The Center Orlando, Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan and Corey Lyons, president of the Orlando chapter of Impulse United, will ride the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s float.

The float will be named, “To Honor and Remember Orlando.”

Ged Kenslea, senior director of communications for the Rose Parade, says this float will be significant.

“It may only be a minute-and-a-half that the float is on screen, but it’s important to present the message to remember the victims and survivors and to confront and challenge the stigma and homophobia that could’ve contributed to the attack,” Kenslea told Pasadena Star News.

Olympic champion Greg Louganis will be one of three grand marshals and the Rose Parade’s first out grand marshal.

The 2017 Rose Parade broadcasts live on Monday, Jan. 2 at 8 a.m. PST. on select networks.
