Pornhub wants to purchase Tumblr and bring back its adult content
Verizon is looking to sell the blog platform

Tumblr could become NSFW again.
Pornhub is reportedly “extremely interested” in acquiring the short-form blog platform, according to BuzzFeed News. Verizon purchased Tumblr as part of Yahoo in 2017 and is now interested in selling it.
In December, Tumblr banned multimedia (photos, videos and GIFs) of “sex acts, human genitalia and female-presenting nipples” in an effort to crack down on child pornography on the site.
The LGBT arts community was impacted as their work was censored due to the website’s safety filters. The lack of adult content caused an almost 30 percent decline in Tumblr’s traffic.
However, Tumblr could be revived by Pornhub.
“Tumblr was a safe haven for those who wanted to explore and express their sexuality, adult entertainment aficionados included,” Pornhub Vice President Corey Price told BuzzFeed News. “We’ve long been dismayed that such measures were taken to eradicate erotic communities on the platform, leaving many individuals without an asylum through which they could comfortably peruse adult content.”
“There are obvious synergies between the two brands and value Pornhub could derive from Tumblr,” Price continued. “We’re extremely interested in acquiring the platform and are very much looking forward to one day restoring it to its former glory with NSFW content.”
