‘Bachelor in Paradise’ features first same-sex relationship
Contestant Demi Burnett says ‘I’m a queer queen’
“Bachelor in Paradise” will include its first same-sex hookup between contestant Demi Burnett and an unidentified woman.
In the trailer for the upcoming season, Burnett is seen kissing another woman on a bed.
“I know that I love this girl. I’m so happy that I found her and I can definitely picture being with her for the rest of my life,” Burnett says.

After the trailer premiered, Burnett tweeted: āSpoiler alert: Iām a queer queen.”

Burnett originally appeared as a contestant on Colton Underwood’s season of “The Bachelor.” She didn’t delve into her sexuality while on the show but is taking the opportunity to be open about her identity on “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Jamie King was the first bisexual contestant on “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2017. However, King didn’t explore any same-sex relationships during that season.
“Bachelor in Paradise” premieres on Aug. 5 on ABC.
