Fashion Santa gives St. Nick a makeover

Toronto mall trades jolly Claus for trendsetter

Fashion Santa, also known as model Paul Mason, is giving Santa Claus a sophisticated makeover at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto.

This mall Santa won’t be the typical man in the red suit people wait in lines for to sit on his lap and have a professional photo taken. Instead, Fashion Santa is a stylish version of St. Nick that has been revamped for the modern times.

Fashion Santa has a sculpted beard, trendy clothes and a cool demeanor that makes him a complete departure from the tried and true Claus.

Making the experience as modern as possible, people can come to the Yorkdale Shopping Centre to pay to take selfies with Mason using the hashtag #YorkdaleFashionSanta. Yorkdale will be donating $1 to the SickKids Foundation.

The Wanda Alston Foundation held its Fall Reception at the Penthouse Rooftop at The Wharf on Friday, Sept. 18. Honorees included D.C. Councilmember Robert White, Director of the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs Japer Bowles, and the Washington Capitals. Rayceen Pendarvis served as the emcee and entertainment was provided by the Thomas Circle Singers.
