OutWrite returns Aug. 5-7

The D.C. Center (2000 14th St., N.W., no. 105) hosts OutWrite, a nonprofit festival celebrating LGBT literature, Friday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 7. The event includes readings, panels, workshops, book release parties and book vendors from LGBT authors. Workshops for LGBT writers will be held on Sunday.

The opening event is a book launch for “Love Unites Us: Winning the Freedom to Marry in America” edited by Kevin M. Cathcart and Leslie J. Gabel-Brett. It will be followed by a panel discussion. Other authors scheduled to appear include M-E Girard, Joanna Cifredo, Regie Cabico, Michael Nava (seen here), Tim Murphy and Alexis de Veaux, winner of a 2015 Lambda Literary Award for lesbian fiction.
