Friday Tea Time will be at 2 p.m. in the DC Center in the atrium of the Reeves Center. This is a social hour for older LGBTQ+ adults. For more information, contact [email protected].Ā 

Women in Their Twenties and Thirties will be at 8 p.m. on Zoom.This is a social discussion group for queer women in the D.C. area for people looking to make new friends and meet other queer women in a fun and friendly setting. For more information, email [email protected].Ā 

Saturday, August 13

Virtual Yoga Class with Charles M. will be at 12 p.m. online. This is a free weekly class focusing on yoga, breath work, and meditation. You can RSVP for this event on the DC Centerā€™s website.

Universal Pride Meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Zoom. This group seeks to support, educate, empower, and create change for people with disabilities. For more information, email email [email protected]Ā  or the groupā€™s facilitator [email protected].Ā 

Sunday, August 14

GoGay DC will host ā€œLGBTQ+ Dinnerā€ at 6 p.m. at Freddieā€™s Beach Bar & Restaurant. About 20 LGBTQ+ folk will be expected, and there will be no cover charge. A drag show starts inside at 7 p.m. and there will also be a scholarship fundraiser. More details are available on Eventbrite. 

ā€œSunday Vibes! LGBTQ+ Inclusive Outdoor Event!ā€ will be at 2 p.m. at Dirty Habit. DJs Eletrox and Jai Syncere will be playing top 40, Afrobeats, reggaeton, house remixes, throwbacks and more. Tickets are free and can be accessed on Eventbrite.

Center Aging Coffee Drop-In will be at 10 a.m. at the DC Center for the LGBT Community and online on Zoom. LGBT Older Adults ā€” and friends ā€” are invited to enjoy friendly conversations and to discuss any issues you might be dealing with. Genderqueer DC will be at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This is a support group for people who identify outside of the gender binary, whether bigender, agender, genderfluid, or 100% not cisgender. For more information, visit genderqueerdc.org or check the group out on Facebook!

The DC Center will host ā€œProject Leap Job Coachingā€ at 6 p.m. at Shuggs Place. This will be a 1-on-1 job coaching for transgender and gender non-conforming job seekers. Some services that will be provided are resume review, job search assistance, and professional wardrobing help. For more information, visit the DC Centerā€™s website. 

Bi Roundtable Discussion will be at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This is an opportunity for people to gather to discuss issues related to bisexuality or as bi individuals in a private setting. For more information, visit Facebook or Meetup.

The DC Centerā€™s Food Pantry Program will be held all day at the DC Center for the LGBT Community. To be fair with who is receiving boxes, the program is moving to a lottery system. People will be informed on Wednesday at 5 p.m. if they are picked to receive a produce box. No proof of residency or income is required. Poly Discussion Group will be at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This group is designed to be a forum for people at all different stages to discuss polyamory and other consensual non-monogamous relationships. For more information, email [email protected].

Ms. Capital Pride will host ā€œMAL Weekend Drag Brunchā€ at 12 p.m. at Baby Shank. Guests will enjoy a lively gathering full of joy, laughter, and connection.
