Lady Gaga performs moving Super Bowl 50 national anthem
pop singer hits the high notes
Lady Gaga kicked off Super Bowl 50 with a stirring rendition of the national anthem at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. on Sunday.
Decked out in a sparkly red pantsuit, American flag heels, bright blue nails and teased hair, Lady Gaga belted out some hard-hitting notes. The 29-year-old’s opera-esque performance was one the star had wanted to do for awhile.
“I’ve always wanted to sing the National Anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl, and for it to be the Super Bowl… it is kind of the ultimate,” Lady Gaga told the NFL Network.
The pop star will appear next on the Grammy awards on Monday,Feb. 15 to perform a tribute to Davie Bowie.
