Lesbian author Bechdel to appear

Graphic novelist and cartoonist Alison Bechdel brings her book tour for her new graphic memoir, “Are You My Mother?” to the D.C. area with an appearance at Politics & Prose (5015 Connecticut Ave., N.W.) tonight at 7 p.m.
Bechdel’s first graphic memoir, “Fun Home,” focused on her father and his secret life as a gay man; her new book will focus on her mother, using the same pop culture and literary allusions she’s known for.
This event is free and open to the public.
