Equality Md. announces gala performers

Equality Maryland announced a list of performers from across Maryland who will be entertaining at its 25th anniversary gala on Oct. 27. Singer J.J. Nolis, songwriter/artist Steven Gellman, executive director of Maryland Citizens for the Arts John Schratweiser, popular group New Wave Singers, soul singer Jonathan Gilmore, Baltimore native songwriter/artist SONiA, world music band Raa Djarsi, and vocalist Lacey Liszt are scheduled to perform.

Aside from acknowledging Equality Maryland’s 25 years of advocacy, the gala will also honor the work and achievements of state Sen. Rich Madaleno (D-Montgomery County). The event will run from 11a.m.-2 p.m. at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, 20 W. Baltimore St. in Baltimore.

Adam May, national correspondent for “America Tonight” on Al Jazeera America and Derek Valcourt, Emmy Award-winning reporter for WJZ-TV will co-emcee the gala.

Individual tickets are $100, and Maryland newlyweds can receive a newlywed package for $170 including special recognition for newlywed status. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit this link.
