Hallmark features gay couples in Valentine’s Day ad
the card company shows gay people can be mushy too
Hallmark’s #CareEnough campaign has a gay couple and lesbian couple share smooches and teary eyed romantic stories in its newly released ads.
The commercials are part of a series featuring real life couples, gay and straight, telling stories of how they met and why they fell for each other. After, one person gives their significant other a Valentine’s Day Hallmark card. The ads end with the tagline “When you want to get the kiss.”
Gay couple Robin and Jason talk about having a baby and the bond it gave them.
“For me, what’s happened between Jason and I is more than love. I feel like we’ve connected as family,” Robin says in the commercial.
Lesbian couple LaParis and Karisia recall meeting in a club and how they felt a spark when they met.
“I think she put some spell on me or something,” Karisia says.
This isn’t the first time Hallmark has marketed its company to the LGBT community. In 2015, Hallmark released a commercial with another lesbian couple.
Equality Prince William Pride was held at the Harris Pavilion in Manassas, Va. on Saturday, May 16.
