Maryland man will be first out contestant on ‘Naked and Afraid’
Nodar attempts to survive wilderness naked
“Naked and Afraid” will have its first openly gay contestant on an episode airing Sunday, March 27 on Discovery Channel at 10 p.m.
Jake Nodar, from Darnestown Md., will appear on the episode as he and another contestant try use their survival skills in a deserted location with no food or water. The pair are only allowed one personal item and must go about the challenge completely naked. The show offers no prizes for completing the task, but for Nodar this is about more than materialistic earnings.
“I love camping, hiking, and fishing. I try to do a crazy adventure around once a year. Rode my bicycle cross country, spent several weeks camping in Kenya,” Nodar says.
This isn’t Nodar’s first battle with the elements. He appeared on Discovery Channel’s “Out in the Wild” in 2009. Armed with clothes this time and a gun, he had to survive in the wilderness of Alaska.
