Bud Light celebrates anniversary of marriage equality with ad
comedic duo attends same-sex ceremony in commercial
Bud Light toasted to the one year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage with a new commercial featuring Seth Rogen and Amy Schumer.
“Weddings” shows Rogen and Schumer attending a gay wedding and showing how all weddings are the same down to the awkward speeches and bouquet toss.
“Bud Light proudly supports everyone’s right to marry whoever they want,” Rogen says at the end of the commercial.
The commercial is slated to air on primetime television with images to be advertised on rainbow-lit billboards.
“By featuring Seth and Amy at a same-sex wedding, we’re showing how all weddings—regardless of who is getting married—share many similarities and moments to celebrate. We created this spot because equality for all Americans is a concept that unites many Bud Light drinkers,” Alex Lambrecht, VP of Bud Light at Anheuser-Busch, said in a statement.
“Weddings” is part of a series of ads for the brand’s “The Bud Light Party” campaign.
