South Asian Arts festival runs Oct. 12-14

Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company presents its 14th annual Fall Festival of South Asian Arts at Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H St., N.E.) Oct. 12-14.

Mallika Sarabhai and Company performs a mix of classic and contemporary dance on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Rama Vaidyanathan and Company combines dance, music and poetry based on the lives of Janabai from Maharashtra and Lal Ded from Kashmir, India. Performance is on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Leela Samson and Spanda Dance Company gives a performance inspired by myths and symbols based off images of rivers.
