Gay author Mark Brennan Rosenberg will read from his new memoir “Eating My Feelings,” on Wednesday night at Politics and Prose (5015 Connecticut Ave., N.W.) at 7 p.m.

The memoir, published by Random House, humorously reflects on Rosenberg’s own struggles with his weight and body image, with accounts from his childhood in the ‘80s and his life as an out gay man in the 2000s.

Some of the childhood stories featured in “Eating My Feelings” include anecdotes from fat camp and obliviously dressing up in blackface for Halloween as “Homey the Clown.” His later stories as a gay man in New York are especially scandalous, such as his attempt at blogger stardom with an x-rated version of “Julie and Julia.”
