Nike celebrates Pride with new sneakers for #BeTrue collection
sports clothing company adds items to LGBT inspired line

Nike releases new items for its #BeTrue collection, including rainbow sneakers and pink triangle shirts, for Pride month on Friday.
The Air Max Zero is a mostly all white shoe with a subtle rainbow detailing on the sole and inside the shoe. The Lunar Tempo 2 is the first all rainbow shoe to be added to the line. Nike’s HyperRev 2016 is another new addition with a brightly colored outer design.
Clothing features shirts with pink triangles, #BeTrue T-shirts and rainbow tights.
“The 2016 BETRUE collection, inspired by the LGBT community, represents this conviction and commitment, pairing two prominent symbols of pride: the rainbow flag and pink triangle,” Â Nike wrote in a statement on its website.
Items will be available in stores and online.

The Opening Reception for the 34th annual D.C. Black Pride was held at the Capital Hilton on Friday, May 23. Presenters, speakers and entertainers included Ts Madison, Monroe Alise, Billy the Goat, Kerri Colby, Apple Brown Betty, Heather Mahogani, Lyrical Mar, Lolita Leopard, Ink, and Bang Garçon. Anthony Oakes was the host.

Queer film festival comes to D.C.
DC/DOX to showcase LGBTQ documentaries made by LGBTQ filmmakers

DC/DOX will host a film festival beginning on Thursday, June 12, at the Regal Gallery Place, Eaton Cinema, and the U.S. Navy Memorial Burke Theatre.
This festival will premier LGBTQ documentaries made by LGBTQ filmmakers. Each screening will be followed by in-person Q&As with the filmmakers.
