Out contestant Billy Gilman has advanced to the semi-finals on NBC’s “The Voice.”
Gilman, 28, is known for his country vocals but decided to switch things up with a cover of “I Surrender” by Celine Dion. Gilman, who is part of Team Adam Levine, told Levine he was excited to perform something different.
“I so desperately wanted people to hear me do this stuff,” Gilman says.
“I love that it’s not the expected thing,” Coach Levine replied.
The showstopping performance landed him a standing ovation by Levine, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton.
Gilman competes for the win in the two-night finale on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 at 8 p.m.
