MOST ELIGIBLE SINGLES: Ryan Bos

Ryan Bos (Washington Blade photo by Michael Key)
Name: Ryan Bos
Age: 43
Occupation: Non-profit management
Identify as: An individual who is gay.
What are you looking for in a mate? Someone who respects and treasures each other’s individuality and uniqueness, yet treasures each other’s commonalities and shared interests. I also want to be inspired by the work and contributions this person offers, while being challenged and held accountable for the things I have yet to learn or mistakes I make.
Biggest turn-off: Living in a world of absolutes, with a glass half empty, while smoking and not willing or able to learn from one’s own mistakes.
Biggest turn-on: A sense of optimism, with a desire for both mental and physical health. Ultimately, someone who is able to be authentic and willing to communicate honestly.
Hobbies: Running, swimming, adventure racing, learning, social activism and advocacy, dancing and traveling.
Describe your ideal first date: Well, I somewhat dread going on dates and through the motions. Though there are times when it feels right and each of us is willing to take a risk and do something different and/or something that feels natural. I especially love live music. Give me some good jazz and blues, with some tasty food.
Favorite TV show: Too many to list as I have very eclectic tastes. I enjoy a good cry from shows like “This Is Us,” to crime dramas like “The Blacklist,” mindless shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” political shows like “Homeland,” sci-fi shows like “Grimm” and reality shows like “The Amazing Race.” One of my all-time favorites is “The West Wing.”
Celebrity crush: Hugh Jackman
One obscure fact about yourself: My right leg is shorter and causing me to trip walking up stairs fairly often.
