Three teens find their lives complicated by love, friendship and crime in the new trailer for coming-of-age drama, “As You Are.”
Owen Campbell (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Charlie Heaton (“Stranger Things”) star as teen boys who start spending time together after their parents start dating. The pair become friends with fellow high school student Amandla Stenberg (“Hunger Games”) and the trio’s connection becomes marred by a tragic love story.
Set against the backdrop of a police investigation for a bloody crime and ’90s grunge nostalgia, the film is 23-year-old filmmaker Miles Joris-Peyrafitte’s debut. It premiered at Sundance Film Festival last year and won a Special Jury award.
“As You Are” will be released in New York City at the Village East Cinema on Feb. 24 and in Los Angeles at the Laemmle Noho on March 3. It will also stream on Amazon later this year.
