Chanticleer spreading cheer with area shows
Fairfax, Manassas concerts planned this weekend

Chanticleer, an all male a capella group, performs “A Chanticleer Christmas” concert at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts (4400 University Dr., Fairfax, Va.) on Saturday at 8 p.m. and at the Hylton Performing Arts Center (10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, Va.) on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Chanticleer’s 12 singers perform music from different time periods and genres. Their latest studio album “Someone New” features a variety of musical genres including classic rock, jazz and indie/pop. They cover artists such as Goyte, Freddie Mercury and M83. They have also released several Christmas albums.

Ashley Biden accepts award for Beau Biden at annual Rehoboth fundraiser
The 19th annual Blade Foundation Summer Kickoff Party was held on Friday, May 15 at Diego’s in Rehoboth Beach, Del. An award presentation was held for former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden. Ashley Biden accepted the award on her brother’s behalf and gave remarks. Other speakers included Delaware state Rep. Claire Snyder-Hall, CAMP Rehoboth Executive Director Dr. Robin Brennan and Washington Blade Editor Kevin Naff. The event was a fundraiser for the Steve Elkins Memorial Fellowship in Journalism.
