GMCW ensembles showcase diverse selections
Genres featured include a cappella, pop, Broadway-style, classical and world music

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington hosts the show “Side By Side,” where its two vocal ensembles, Potomac Fever and Rock Creek Singers, perform together on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Church of the Epiphany (1133 New York Ave., NW).
Genres featured in the performance include a cappella, pop, Broadway-style, classical and world music. Potomac Fever will perform a cappella versions of pop favorites including Taylor Swift’s “Mean,” Colbie Caillat’s “I Do” and “No One Is Alone” from “Into the Woods.” Rock Creek Singers perform rich pieces such as “Dentro Il Mio Cor,” “Sure On This Shining Night” and “Tres Cantos Nativos Dos Indios Krao.”

Ashley Biden accepts award for Beau Biden at annual Rehoboth fundraiser
The 19th annual Blade Foundation Summer Kickoff Party was held on Friday, May 15 at Diego’s in Rehoboth Beach, Del. An award presentation was held for former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden. Ashley Biden accepted the award on her brother’s behalf and gave remarks. Other speakers included Delaware state Rep. Claire Snyder-Hall, CAMP Rehoboth Executive Director Dr. Robin Brennan and Washington Blade Editor Kevin Naff. The event was a fundraiser for the Steve Elkins Memorial Fellowship in Journalism.
